Donated items must be in good, working, resale-able condition. Unfortunately, our ReStores do not have the resources to clean, repair or refinish items.

Items that are damaged, water damaged, mouldy, mildewed, cut, broken, incomplete, missing parts, and/or excessively stained/dirty. Unfortunately, our ReStores do not have the resources to clean, repair or refinish items. We can take all textiles as we can recycle through our clothing recycling program. 

Furniture

• Cubicles and large office desks (regular desks must be less than 5’ long to be accepted)
• Disassembled furniture (ie. disassembled pressboard furniture)
• ‘Built-in’ units (custom units built into a wall that do not come out in 1 finished piece)
• Piano’s (small organs or very small pianos are accepted)
• Bunk beds (new and in packaging are accepted)
• Corporate Office Furniture 
• CRT TVs and CRT TV Cabinets
• Hutch  (top half of the typical ‘Buffet/Hutch’)
• Dated Floral Couches
• Large Entertainment Units  

Home Renovation

• Used windows/patio doors
• Used toilets and toilet seats
• Used bricks and paving stones
• Used cabinet doors (without full cabinets)
• Used or cut construction supplies
• Flat-panel doors
• Used flooring/tile (if new, must be min 100sq ft)
• Used ceiling tile, rugs, and carpet (New unfinished edge carpet must be bound and larger than 5×7)
• Used paint, stains, chemical cleaners and pesticides
• Used tubs (cast iron clawfoot accepted), jacuzzis, showers, shower doors
• Pedestal sinks
• Glass or mirrors without frames
• Stand-alone countertops

Other – (Health & Safety)

• Books
• Helmets (new and in packaging are accepted)
• Used light bulbs / fluorescents
• Used mattresses / box springs
• Used pull-out couches/murphy beds. (futon frames are accepted)
• Used playground equipment, strollers, cribs, high chairs etc. 
• Any baby items with a belt or restraint. (vintage items for decorative purposes are accepted)
• Hazardous waste (ex. paint, stains, chemical cleaners, pesticides etc)
• Used Tires
• Weapons (guns, knives, ammunition, etc)
• Ladders
• Medical equipment (ex. wheelchairs/ mobility scooters/hospital beds, stairlifts, shower chairs, etc) (Can be donated to Brain injury out of Donor Service)
• Home gym systems with cables (new and in packaging are accepted)
• Used blinds/shutters
• Expired food/ products

Kitchens

• Cabinets with exterior hinges
• Cabinets with embedded wooden ‘end to end’ door handles
• Peeling or bubbling thermofoil cabinets
• Hand-painted cabinets

The ReStore is an amazing place to shop for used furniture, antiques, appliances, used kitchens, paintings, home décor, doors and more. Every visit to the ReStore is different, and every purchase helps support our home-building projects in our community.

ReStores are able to provide tax receipts for any donations estimated at a value of $100.00 or more.

Donated items will be valued based on the quality and condition of the items upon the day of donation, not the original purchase price or previous state.

We no longer give tax receipts for drop off donations at our Restore, only pickup and monetary.
