Looking back on our summer of construction at Crew-Goetz Landing
The Crew-Goetz Landing build project is our biggest project to date. Eighteen homes are under construction at our build site in Burlington for families and hardworking individuals that live and work in our shared community. At the start of 2018, we knew this would be the most ambitious year of construction our affiliate has ever faced. Thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers, our summer of construction has gone incredibly well. Now as summer draws to a close, we wanted to take a look back at all the progress to date at Queensway, starting with the Crew-Goetz Landing groundbreaking ceremony in May.
It seems like yesterday that we all gathered on an empty construction site to celebrate the official beginning of construction at Crew-Goetz Landing. Friends, supporters, well-wishers, staff and volunteers all made the trip to 2384 Queensway Drive to show their support for our affiliate, and to congratulate us on embarking on such an ambitious project. We’re so proud of the energy, enthusiasm and determination of our community and our team to make this build happen.
Our team worked tirelessly to use this summer’s good weather to their advantage.
We were so happy to progress to the point where we were able to bring volunteer teams onto the site. Volunteer teams from the community were now able to help our construction staff on the build site.
None of the work we did this summer could have been possible without our supporters. Whether you volunteered on a build site, donated construction supplies, or even bought something from the ReStore, your support is deeply appreciated by all of us at Habitat.
Not even the late July heat could stop our teams from building. From pouring concrete, to framing, and everything else in between, our teams worked tirelessly through the summer to make these homes a reality.
It’s an amazing thing to watch a large project like this come together. Although there is still a huge amount of work to be done.
