ReVive KidsBuild Centre open for school field trips this fall

Earlier this year, our one-of-a-kind ReVive DIY Centre launched Habitat HM’s first program for kids: our KidsBuild Program. We were so excited by the positive response we received!  Our camp focuses on STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, arts and math) education with a special emphasis on environmental issues and social awareness.

KidsBuild was a huge success for ReVive and Habitat. We believe in giving children the chance to learn through play, using hand tools, working with wood, and learning how to see a project through from start to finish. Learning should be fun, and we believe our camp can open the door for kids into the wide world of technology, mechanics, science, engineering and DIY!

This is why we are so excited to announce that this upcoming school year, classes will have the opportunity to spend a day in our ReVive Centre for a KidsBuild field trip! A field trip to our ReVive Centre will give students an unforgettable experience that will teach them scientific concepts in a hands-on environment. They’ll use a variety of equipment, materials and problem-solving skills in order to complete the challenges in front of them. Students will learn how to use equipment safely under the watchful eye of our expert instructors. KidsBuild will foster the importance of giving back to the community. Above all, it’s just a ton of fun!

Every KidsBuild group project comes with a lesson and activity sheets to take back to the classroom to expand on the concepts explored in the activity.

Taking a field trip to KidsBuild does more than just give your students an unforgettable experience, it helps us build more homes in our community. All proceeds from the cost to participate in our program goes towards our home building projects. Every field trip to our location means more affordable homes for local families.

Our KidsBuild program is located at 4500 Dixie Road in Mississauga. For more information, or to book your own field trip please reach out to . We hope to see you soon!

    Hi Habitat!

The Appleby Line RE-Store is one of my favourite places.

I am on the committee of Historic Waterdown Arts and Events. We are the Not For Profit organization who produce the Waterdown ArtsFEST and The Smokey Hollow Studio Tour. Please check out ArtsFEST.ca for photos from this year.

I would like to discuss having Habitat set up a Kids Build Area for our 2019 Festival Family Zone next August. It would be great to promote your stores and organization in the Greater Hamilton Area and to encourage Creativity through Volunteerism in our youngsters.

Please contact me at the email above and we’ll see what we can do.

Cheers and thanks for all of your hard work.
