How Does the Program Work?
At Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga, we designed our Affordable Housing Program to meet the diverse needs of our local community. Our Affordable Housing Program offers an affordable place to call home where housing payments never exceed 30% of your total gross annual income. We build mixed-income developments that provide opportunities for families from all walks of life to participate in our Affordable Housing Program. Simply follow the steps below to apply for affordable housing.
Step 1: Apply Online
Apply to either the Peel or the Halton Region Housing Wait Lists by clicking one of the buttons above. These are centralized housing waitlists for all residents of the community who are in need of a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.
Step 2: Wait
Habitat for Humanity may receive applicants from the local or regional municipal housing waitlists when housing units become available. If you have questions about your housing application, you must send the inquiry directly to your local or regional government.
Step 3: Conditional Offer
If your local or regional government provides or recommends your application to us, we may contact you with a conditional offer for a housing unit.
Step 4: Re-Apply
If you live in the Halton Region, you must re-apply to their housing list each year. If you live in Peel Region, you do not need to re-apply each year.
